SAP: An IoT Application Module Placement Strategy Based on Simulated Annealing Algorithm in Edge-Cloud Computing

The Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly growing and provides the foundation for development smart cities, home, health care. With more devices connecting to Internet, huge amounts data are produced, creating a great challenge processing. Traditional cloud computing has problems long delays. Edge an extension computing, processing at edge network can reduce delay computing. Due limited resources servers, resource management servers become critical research problem. However, structural characteristics subtask chain between each pair sensors actuators not considered address task scheduling problem in most existing research. To latency energy consumption edge-cloud system, we propose multilayer system. application deployed system based on directed digraph. fully use proposed module placement strategy using Simulated Annealing Placement (SAP) algorithm. modules bounded sensor. SAP algorithm designed find scheme sensor generate including mapping Thus, transmit tuples with chain. evaluate efficacy our algorithm, simulate iFogSim. Results show able achieve significant reductions consumption.
